Who We Work With

Sustain works with Governments, Councils & Community Leaders to help map local food systems, and develop evidence-based and achievable policies and programs. Visit the links below to learn more about the work that we do with these members of the community.

Government & Local Councils

Sustains works with and supports staff, managers and elected representatives at both the State and local level to help them understand their roles in building better food systems. As well as creating numerous opportunities for them to build their knowledge and networks through our events, we also offer a range of consultancy services to State and local government.

Community Groups

Sustain regularly provides advice and information to community groups on food system issues, challenges and opportunities. We have worked with several on our funded projects. Community groups who are members of Sustain are able to profile their work on our website and Food Systems Directory, as well as secure free attendance to our webinars for some of their staff.

Food Businesses

Sustain encourages businesses from farm to plate to embrace the challenge of working with us to build a better food system. Specifically, we invite producers and small-scale food businesses to help us help them, by becoming suppliers of our Grow Source Eat weekly fresh fruit and vegetable offering, which provides fresh, local and fairly-priced produce to over 80 householders weekly in Melbourne's inner suburbs.
