Jemma Stefanou
Urban Farm Network Coordinator, Sustain
Jemma (they/them) is a settler-migrant, queer and disabled person living and working on Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung Country, with maternal lines from Scotland via Aotearoa (New Zealand) and paternal lines from Samos, Greece. They grew up with a strong connection with their Yiayia Sevasti (grandmother) who migrated to Melbourne at 14 years old, and enjoy spending time together sharing and learning about their Samian culture through food and gardening. Jemma works and lives across the Merri Merri amongst with Darebin and Merri-bek as a community farmer and community connector. Their interests lie in exploring identity, healing and learning through food growing and sharing, respectfully, on stolen land.
