I am the founder of a small charity located in the Bega Valley of NSW. Our purpose is to "nourish the community". We run a community pantry, a social cafe, cooking groups and other activities. We source our stock from a combination of food/grocery rescue/purchases from Foodbank/and donations from the community.

I am concerned that our business model is based on food waste and is not sustainable. On one hand, we rejoice when we collect a big load of meat, fruit and vegetables from a major supermarket and distribute that to disadvantaged groups so they can feed their families; but families shouldn't have to be dependent on food waste.

I'd like to see a world where food isn't wasted. Where everyone has sufficient for their needs. Hence my interest in SUSTAIN.
