Birallee Park Neighbourhood House Inc

Not For Profit Emergency Food Relief

We are a busy independent Neighbourhood house situated at 39 Emerald Avenue, West Wodonga.

Our programs encourage and engage members of the community to make positive change in their life, regardless of their circumstances.
The Neighbourhood House is also located close to local schools, and retail outlet, together with public transport for ease of access.

Our premises are very suited to hosting training workshops and our staff and volunteers have many years experience running small and large scale community training and social events and festivities, either operated solely by the House or run in conjunction with another organization in partnership with us.

We are guided by a passionate committee of management drawn from vast experience in the local community and have put together programs and events that seek to encourage the community into participating in workshops and training sessions designed to improve their wellbeing and are easy and affordable to access.

A strong focus for all of our programs is community engagement and development, embracing diversity and encouraging social inclusion.

Birallee Park Neighbourhood House also partners with local mainstream and special needs schools and support networks, to provide our youth and disabled individuals with opportunities to participate in voluntary community and work experience placements with our organization and others.

For over 13 years we have operated an emergency food relief project called “Our Table to Yours”, where we prepare meals for freezing and distribution to anyone experiencing hardship in the local community.
We also have a "Food is Free at Birallee "food trolley where access to healthy and sustaining food is free to everyone. Recipients of our meals together with our volunteers, come from a broad cross section of the community, with many charitable agencies, health providers, and social outreach organizations collecting meals weekly, with in excess of 26,000 meals distributed annually. Birallee Park Neighbourhood House aims to build resilience in our community through food security and knowledge, and our food programs reduce isolation.
