    In May 2021 Reem went 12 days without being able to work at her rabbit farm, as Israel maintained sustained bombing within the area. In 2014, at the age of 30, she had established the 90 sqm rooftop farm as a means to sustain the ten members in her family unit. Her husband had recently lost his farm work due when it was destroyed under Israeli aggression, a common narrative in Gaza.
